Aim and Objectives
To organize Inter-school Basketball Championship recognized by Delhi Public School Patna | Pune | Ludhiana.
To encourage sportsmanship and to promote friendly relation among the schools.
To raise the general standards of sports and games prevailing in the schools and to work for the all round development & values through sports amongst the students.
Importatn Points
Event shall be conducted as per the schedule mentioned.
Principals of local schools, persons associated with these sports are to be invited for the Takshila Sports Event.
Newsletter to be distributed to all participants on the same day. Format to be sent from KC.
An invitation letter to the Press for coverage to be sent. Press release to be prepared for all events and sent to all local media office.
Group photography to be clicked for all schools. The same can be pasted on the photo mount and distributed to the participants.
School sound system to be used for the opening and closing ceremony. No outsourcing for the same to be done.
Practice for the event shall be done after school hours. H & PE Dept. to inform the Principal and I/C Activity well in advance. Practice shall start 15 days before the date of the event
Students of different class in rotation shall watch the match during the school hours. The schedule for the same shall be made by H&PE dept. with the consultation of I/C Timetable.
All participants shall be provided with a packet of snacks @ Rs. 25/- per participant.
All officials shall be provided with lunch. Schools to make arrangement.

Reporting time
:
Reporting date is October 20,2011 followed by a meeting of team managers and coaches at 8:00 a.m.
Inauguration
:
The inauguration of the Championship will be held on 13th October 2011, at 8:30am.
Valediction
:
Valedictory function will be held on 21st October at 5:00 p.m.
Transportation
:
Bus facilities will be arranged from (central point). The timing of bus will be 6:45a.m.
Food
:
The lunch packet will be distributed during championship and also technical officials will be provided lunch.

17th October 2011 Entries received after October 17, 2011 will not be entertained.

Rules and Regulations
The championship will be conducted according to the rules of the game as adopted by the Basketball Federation of India.
Match will be played in both the categories (U-19 Boys & U-19 Girls) on Knockout basis.
Teams are requested to be present in time on the ground for their matches. In case as team is not present a walk over will be given to the other team.
All the player must be in proper playing kit only.
The number of players representing a school shall not more than twelve.
All the teams shall be accompanied by a Teacher/Coach/Manager designated by the principal participating school.
No team will be permitted to participate without accompanying official.
No team shall be accompanied by more than two officials.
Girls participants in the team one of the accompanying officials must be a female.
Colors (Kit)
All the participating teams shall complete in the Inter-School championship in their respective playing uniform & No. should be visible. The case of clash of colors it shall be decided by the spin of Coin as to which team will have to change playing uniform.
Every team will carry their school flag for the purpose of march past. Participation in march past in compulsory, school uniform is compulsory for the march past.
Disqualification: A player/team may be disqualified for the following reason.
(a) Inclusion of non bonafide student in the team.
(b) Misbehavior on ground by player or accompanying official.
(c) Use of abusive language by player or accompanying official.
Protest:
Protest of any nature in connection with the championship shall be in writing and must reach the organizing secretary with in one hour of the declaration of the result duly accompanied by a fee of Rs. 100/- (Five Hundred Only).
Such a protest will be considered by jury of appeal.
The decision taken by the jury of appeal will be final binding.
Consent letter of participants:
The school should send consent letter of participation to the organizing school, before 17th October 2011, at 4.00 pm. after this date we will not accept the consent form.
